Wedding in Utah

This weekend we went to Utah for a wedding. Two of the members from the Chicago 5^th ward got married and we were invited to the festivities. Carol was a huge help on the mission and I was so grateful that she decided to get married in the Salt Lake Temple so I could be there. She looked gorgeous!

Randi came up to Salt Lake with us and dropped us off at the temple. We felt bad when we got to the temple and the temple assistant informed us that the wedding wasn’t for about another hour. I thought I had read the announcement correctly, but apparently they had taken care of the 30 minutes early for us when they printed the announcements. I assumed we needed to be there early as the ceremony would begin at the time indicated on the announcement. So we decided we would come back in about a half hour and wait at that point. We called Randi to let her know of my mess-up and she decided since it was a nice day she’d come back and wait for us to finish and would read a book at the tables outside the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. She was a little tired when we got done with the ceremony, but good thing she was able to spring back to her normal chipper self in just a few minutes.

After the pictures we walked over to the South Visitor’s Center and checked out the small replica of the Salt Lake Temple they have. It was awesome! They built it and then cut it open so you could see what the rooms looked like. I thought the assembly hall was especially cool as I had never seen it before.
Then we headed over to my Aunt LaWayne’s to drop Randi off and hang out with her for a little bit before we needed to be back at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building for dinner. Dinner was great and we had fun at the reception. Thanks for getting married Carol!

After the reception we went back to my aunt’s to wait for my mom to arrive. She came bearing gifts of Easter! (Thanks for not making us wait to open them.) Around 11:30 we decided it was time to head back to Randi’s.

The next day we got to hang out with my mom and my aunt, Mara, and Sammy too! Mara came with the girls to Hobby Lobby where I got to pick out fabric for some projects Randi is doing for me. I’m not sure she enjoyed her 2 hours in Hobby Lobby, but we enjoyed having her along.

Rudy and Sammy went shooting with Cass. It seemed like they had a lot of fun until they ran out of skeet and the rifle broke. Thanks for taking them to do manly things Cass! (Sorry no pictures from them because I had the camera at Hobby Lobby). After we were all back at Randi’s my mom had to head for home and took my aunt to Salt Lake. Thanks for coming to see us!!

We were supposed to go back to Salt Lake that night for another reception, Carol’s little sister, but we decided to kick it with Mara, Sammy, and David. Before we headed over to the Bolingbroke's we stopped at Smith's for some soda, cake, and gas. I love how they've changed the rewards system so we were able to get $.70 off a gallon!! We finally paid under $3.o0!

We played a nice game of Apples to Apples and then some Wii. Sammy and Rudy sure had fun!

The next day we went to church with Randi and Cassidy, had some tasty dinner,

and then headed for the warmth of Vegas! We knew BJ was missing us terribly and didn’t want him to start crying so we called it a weekend.

It has come to my attention that a lot has happened in the last year since my last post; and with the help of BJ here's the improved blog including my husband!

Meet Rudy, My Husband

We met while we were on our Missions. Rudy makes me smile... a lot. He took me to Hawaii for our honeymoon. He describes himself as a Dead Sexy Beast. He is also quite humble.

We are expecting our first child in September. Right now it is making me very sick. I've lost 5 lbs in the past few months... Rudy has found them... and a few extra...

We are currently living with BJ, as we wait to finalize the purchase of a new home.

1st Day of School!

Today I started class at my 3rd college today! I am now attending CSN the community college here in Vegas because it's a whole lot cheaper. I don't understand... it's the same knowledge that I will be learning so why does it have to be so darn expensive? Oh well... when I got to the campus I couldn't find the building I needed and as soon as I entered one of the buildings the rain was pooring soo hard that the power went out. Great... I have no idea where I am and I have no light! I finally found 2 girls just standing there and asked them if they knew where I was supposed to be going. They said since the power went out their teacher let them out early and they would walk me to my classroom. Great! I was already late and they were really good guides. So I finally made it just about 10 minutes late. It was so awkward! The teacher had already started and was taking roll and passing out the syllabus. Thank goodness I was able to quickly find a seat. Anyways... before I left for school I had Torri snap a few photos of me on my first day at a new school!

Who would have thought?? Twice in one month

So... since I had a great Christmas and got a laptop for Christmas I thought I would try and see if I could post pictures from this computer. So you're getting a bonus this month! Don't get used to it because we all know I most likely will not keep this record up! : ) Here are a few pictures from last year and a few from this year and my trip to Reno. I see a Dr. in Reno and it works out pretty well since that's where Rudy lives. So I got to go and party with Rudy on New Year's Eve and then have my blood drawn on Monday before I came home yesterday. Hopefully we'll be able to see what my genes say and then figure out what's wrong with me. Anyways... I hope you are able to enjoy some of these pictures.

This was a learning experience for me. You're probably all a lot smarter then me and already knew this, but I was unaware that geese had tongues. I really had no idea that they looked as closely to ours as they do. But I was excited to have the goose stick his tongue out at me. Although... I probably won't be as thrilled if you decide to stick yours out at me.

This is Rudy and me at his parent's house on Sunday after church. His brother likes my camera so it wasn't hard to get him to take our picture.

I am the ward activities chairman in my ward and since I'm in a single's ward at times I get to plan valley wide activities. Luckily I have a great brother who will support me in my calling on occasion. November was my ward's month to plan the valley wide activity and we did a hoe down. This is us right before we started the cleanup process.

Rudy came to visit me over Halloween since it is also Nevada Day and the courts were closed so I got it off! We were going to go to a party so we dressed up and got to take the boys out trick-or-treating before the party. We were the only adults that were dressed up, with the exception of Lacey, so we got to take the kids to the doors. It was great fun!

While I was in Reno I went ice skating for my very first time! I was so excited and seemed to be doing great! I made it around the rink several times without falling so I decided to get fancy and try jumping. I did successfully several times, but then as I was trying to get a good jump for the camera I fell. : ( But it only happened once the whole time we were out! I was really proud of myself... but then again I did have someone holding my hand and my arms for the majority of the time so if I got tipsy he caught me! I highly recommend it!

We also went and saw the movie Avatar in 3-D while I was there and Rudy wanted us to keep our glasses so we could take a picture. I'm surprised we actually did.

I'm the marketing department for my lawfirm so I get to be incharge of all sorts of fun things. The partners decided that we should have firm pictures taken, so I used my hook-up (BJ) to come and take our pictures. I think he did a pretty good job.

Randi and I in Hyram on Memorial Day. It's always fun to visit Grandma and Grandpa Jones's graves. It's like a mini family reunion since Joe and Bonnie come from Nebraska, BJ from Vegas, My parents from Elko (and this year I came with mom since I was still bumming around in Elko), and of course the distant travelers... Randi and LaWayne. It's always a good time as we walk around the cemetary looking at all the family graves and then head over the hill to Chili's for a quick 3 hour lunch!

It's an update! Who would have thought?

So my last post was about 7 months ago… what can I say? I’m a busy, boring girl. I usually get up go to work. I work for a law firm, but a different one then before. I now work for the Law Office of Piet & Wright. We handle all types of cases, but basically are doing a lot of bankruptcies and divorces. I am the scheduler and the marketing department. I started as the Receptionist and have moved p in the world! But I am here from 8:30 -5:30 Monday – Friday. I did take one class this semester from UNLV. It was once a week and was a criminal justice class which I just found out I got an A- in!!! I’m very happy about that. After work I now normally come home and chill by myself as my roommate has a life and isn’t usually home. Once a week I go to the temple after work, Thursday night’s I’m usually over at the Martin’s for the Office and Community, since I don’t have cable. And the other nights are just kind of hit and miss, but usually spent at home. I do finally have a boyfriend. We’ve been dating for a little over 4 months, but he lives in Reno, so my nights are usually spent on the phone for a couple of hours with him. His name is Rudy and I met him in Chicago while on the mission. He was one of my zone leaders, but nothing happened while we were in the mission. We started speaking in July when my Mission President and his wife returned from the mission and had a huge reunion party here in Vegas since they are from here. He came down and we kinda hung out one night. Then we started texting and when he was down here in August we started dating. So… just for the record… my heart was locked during the mission and I was a good missionary! Anyways… Now hopefully you will all be content and happy with me for the next 7 months. I can hope anyways right? I tried to attach several pictures, but none would attach so maybe you'll get another update within the next 7 months with pictures. :) Something to look forward to! Ok... I didn't get asked out, but my roommate did! She wasn't too thrilled about going, see reason b on previous post, but she said yes anyways... Here are some before and after pictures of her... I really like the contrast!







You can tell she is already giving up dating in the ward... She's practically surrendering! Sorry Tor... It was a blog worthy post! : )

Today I was so excited because I answered my phone to a number I didn't recognize and on the other end was the incredibly cute Elder's Quorum President! I got so excited when he introduced himself. And then he continued... I was wondering if it would be possible tomorrow night for me... I was wishing upon a star that he would say "and you could go out." Unfortunately he said and my companion could come over and home teach you. I went from being so excited to slightly less than excited. So that's as close as I have come to being asked out in the ward... It started off with such potential and then just fizzled out to not so much!

Nannying

Ok... I didn't really take a lot of pictures... practically being a single parent to 4 children is exhausting! Plus I forgot that I had my camera with me for most of the time. But here are a few pictures from my week. They kids were having a sword fight... except for Cari, who is 2 and didn't understand the concept.








I am happy to report that they were all still alive when their parents came home and only 2 had some bruises. I'm not terrified of being a parent anymore, especially since I won't start off with 4 that already have attitudes and hopefully I won't be a single parent! So... now I just need to find a guy that a)will ask me out and b)doesn't creep me out! Haha! Wish me luck!
