It's an update! Who would have thought?

So my last post was about 7 months ago… what can I say? I’m a busy, boring girl. I usually get up go to work. I work for a law firm, but a different one then before. I now work for the Law Office of Piet & Wright. We handle all types of cases, but basically are doing a lot of bankruptcies and divorces. I am the scheduler and the marketing department. I started as the Receptionist and have moved p in the world! But I am here from 8:30 -5:30 Monday – Friday. I did take one class this semester from UNLV. It was once a week and was a criminal justice class which I just found out I got an A- in!!! I’m very happy about that. After work I now normally come home and chill by myself as my roommate has a life and isn’t usually home. Once a week I go to the temple after work, Thursday night’s I’m usually over at the Martin’s for the Office and Community, since I don’t have cable. And the other nights are just kind of hit and miss, but usually spent at home. I do finally have a boyfriend. We’ve been dating for a little over 4 months, but he lives in Reno, so my nights are usually spent on the phone for a couple of hours with him. His name is Rudy and I met him in Chicago while on the mission. He was one of my zone leaders, but nothing happened while we were in the mission. We started speaking in July when my Mission President and his wife returned from the mission and had a huge reunion party here in Vegas since they are from here. He came down and we kinda hung out one night. Then we started texting and when he was down here in August we started dating. So… just for the record… my heart was locked during the mission and I was a good missionary! Anyways… Now hopefully you will all be content and happy with me for the next 7 months. I can hope anyways right? I tried to attach several pictures, but none would attach so maybe you'll get another update within the next 7 months with pictures. :) Something to look forward to! Merry Christmas from me to you with love!

First Date from the ward!

Ok... I didn't get asked out, but my roommate did! She wasn't too thrilled about going, see reason b on previous post, but she said yes anyways... Here are some before and after pictures of her... I really like the contrast!

You can tell she is already giving up dating in the ward... She's practically surrendering! Sorry Tor... It was a blog worthy post! : )

Today I was so excited because I answered my phone to a number I didn't recognize and on the other end was the incredibly cute Elder's Quorum President! I got so excited when he introduced himself. And then he continued... I was wondering if it would be possible tomorrow night for me... I was wishing upon a star that he would say "and you could go out." Unfortunately he said and my companion could come over and home teach you. I went from being so excited to slightly less than excited. So that's as close as I have come to being asked out in the ward... It started off with such potential and then just fizzled out to not so much!

Nannying

Ok... I didn't really take a lot of pictures... practically being a single parent to 4 children is exhausting! Plus I forgot that I had my camera with me for most of the time. But here are a few pictures from my week. They kids were having a sword fight... except for Cari, who is 2 and didn't understand the concept.

I am happy to report that they were all still alive when their parents came home and only 2 had some bruises. I'm not terrified of being a parent anymore, especially since I won't start off with 4 that already have attitudes and hopefully I won't be a single parent! So... now I just need to find a guy that a)will ask me out and b)doesn't creep me out! Haha! Wish me luck!

New Job

Ok So... Before I moved to Las Vegas I had already spoken to a couple different people about jobs. 2 different companies said that they would most likely be able to hire me part time. So I thought great! 2 part time jobs... I'll take it, it's not ideal, but I'll take what I can get. Well... I get down here and it doesn't work out with either. So I spent about 2 1/2 weeks applying for jobs and waiting to hear back. Finally my roommate TorriLyn tells me that her boss is looking for a nanny for 5 days while he and his wife head back east to a dental conference. So... needing a job I accept. They have 4 children, 3 girls and 1 boy. The oldest is 8 and the youngest is 2. I met with him and he also talked to me about possibly hiring me for some marketing work at his orthodontist office about 10 hrs a week and possibly some hours at his father's practice. I was excited because I at least had some prospects! Monday morning, 3 days before I am supposed to start nannying I get a call from 2 other companies that I have applied to and they want to set up interviews! Yay! The first is just a phone interview, but I figured great! I don't have to get ready and they'll call me later that day. The second was for a law firm... later that day.
I went to the interview at the law office and I even made BJ help me pick out my outfit, complete with shoes since he had the day off and was over visiting me. ( We hadn't chosen the shoes yet for this picture!)

I went and met with the Head hancho! Mr. Fales. I spoke with him for about 20 minutes. He informed me the only reason I was being interviewed was because he had seen on my response to one of his questions that I had attended a BYU. He too had graduated from BYU and is in fact LDS. To boot, all but 2 employees at this small office of 12 are LDS. The first question he asked was how I like my mission. I thought this was odd since I was here for a job interview, but I responded. Anyways... He informed me that he would be sending in 2 other employees to come and meet with me. So I enjoyed speaking with them for about 20- 30 minutes. When I had set up this appt I had informed them that I had another interview at 3. So as I was speaking with these 2 employees one of them brought it up. "I know you have another interview in about 5 minutes, but do you think you could reschedule? Skip it? I realize I can't force you to skip it, but if I could I would." I was kind of caught off gaurd, but informed her that I would call the other company later and see if there was anyway I could set up yet another interview. Apparently I was headed to step 3 of the interview process. This normally takes place on another day, but since they live close, they had called in Gary's (Mr. Fales') wife to come and meet with me. They informed me that they lived really close and that she was on her way and should be here in about 3 minutes. So I reluctantly said ok and waited.
Mrs. Fales comes in and speaks with me and asks me basically all of the questions that I have now answered twice. The other 2 employees are still in there with me so they are now hearing my response for the second time as well. Anyways Mrs. Fales asks me about when I would be available to start work if I were hired and I informed her tomorrow, but I had also accepted a position nannying for Friday- Tuesday. She asked me a little more and then asked who I was nannying for... turns out she and the wife of the Dr. grew up together in Rigby, Idaho and then were also VT companions for 3 years here in Vegas. Small world... anyways... she then leaves the room with the other two and they talk for about a minute. She then returned and said, "well... the job is yours if you want it. We would love to start training you tomorrow at 8am, and would like for you to come for the next three days and then they would let me have those 3 business days off to nanny and then I could return full time." I was so excited, so of course I said yes!
So... I now work for the Law Offices of Gary Fales and Associates as the receptionist and a member of the marketing department. He does probate, medicade, LLC's, Wills, Deeds, and Life and Death plans. It's actually quite interesting.

I'm sure glad that I didn't go in with this face though, Or I might not have gotten the job! Haha

New Digs

Last Friday, the 17th, I moved back to Las Vegas. This time I'm not living with BJ, but I do live only about 10 miles from him so I'm pretty excited and still get to see him quite often. He was such a huge help with getting a lot of the big stuff up the stairs and into my new condo! I don't own it, I'm renting a very nice 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo with my best friend since the 6th grade, TorriLyn! I love it! We have so much fun together, even if most of the fun doesn't start until later in the night when most people are asleep! Here are a few pictures of the new place!

This is of my room, I haven't quite finished unpacking and putting stuff away, but hopefully soon!
My bathroom! Notice how I have 2 whole sinks all to myself!!1
BJ got creative when he took this picture! It's of the clubhouse.

This is my building we live on the top with the satellite dish that we don't have hooked up!

Obviously the kitchen, it's not huge, but if you know Torri and me, we don't cook too much anyways! There is also a little pantry that you can't see next to the fridge.
Our pool. There are also 2 hot tubs. I have already tried them out! Monday it was super hot here and BJ had the day off so he and the Martins came for a swim while Torri was at work.
I'm not really sure why we need a fireplace... but it came with the condo, so now you get to see it!
BJ thought it would be funny if I held a hammer so it looked like I was working on stuff, but really... I wasn't. Shocker, the picture looks sooo authentic I know!
Torri got us a great deal on a very nice, big, sectional couch. Complete with pull out queen bed, so if anyone wants to come visit, we have a bed for you!!

Graduation

I am so excited! I can finally say that I have a degree!
It only took me four years (if you don't count the year out for my mission) to get a 2 year degree, but I did it and I am now the proud owner of an associates degree in General Studies from BYU-Idaho! I took the last two courses I needed to graduate on line since I wasn't quite ready for campus life after I returned home from the mission early due to health problems.
It was a great two day event and I finally got to meet two adorable members of the family, Lucy and Piper! Both were tons of fun and didn't actually ever cry while I was holding them which helped make Thursday evening even better.
Thursday night was great fun! Wes, Ashurity, Piper, Bonnie, Tyler, Lucy, Aunt LaWayne, Randi, and my parents showed up to help me celebrate. Thursday night I received my diploma cover and they actually read my name. After the ceremony we all headed over to dinner at Frontier Pies! I had a great time chatting with everyone.

Friday morning was the big ceremony with President Clark and the newly sustained and set apart apostles Neil L. Anderson. I was so close that I could have reached out and hugged him had if I had wanted to and if I had had time. I only had 2 tickets so only my parents were able to go in, but it was still a great time had by all. Aunt LaWayne and Randi got me some beautiful flowers with Gerbera Daisies (my favorite!!!) And then we took pictures before returning to Pocatello. I felt a little bad on the way back down because we stopped by Horkley's in Rexburg to get some drinks before heading on our way and my dad ended up backing into a pole with his new truck and then after we returned to Pocatello Randi ran to Walmart to get some stuff for my cousin's wedding cake for my dad and was hit by a 92 year old lady in her brand new Vibe! The sacrifices my family makes for me!

I'm graduating and Moving!

Ok so I just wanted to add to keeping up with the Jones' but I couldn't figure out how so this was the next best thing. I figure Aunt Raedene and Uncle Dave told us all we should start one when we were visiting them in January, so I love you... here you go! : ) I can't guarantee that this will be updated very often, but I'll try my best when new stuff comes up... Sorry I don't have any pictures of my cute children to post, maybe someday when I have a kid I will! So for now I'll just say I'm finally graduating from college!!!! It's only with my associates, but hey; I'll take what I can get at this point. I finally ended up changing my major once again so that I could graduate this semester so I will be graduating in general studies. I graduate on April 9 from BYU-Idaho and I'm so excited that I'm even making a special trip up there just to walk. I've been taking my last two courses needed on-line, so I haven't actually been on campus. So if any of you are around and want to come it's in Rexburg on Thursday night @ 7pm in the Taylor Chappel.
The other part of my exciting news is I'm moving! I've been chilling at home with the world's greatest parents since September when I was released from my mission. I'm moving back to Vegas around the 17th of April. I'm going to be living with my best friend since I was 11. We don't know exactly where we will be living yet, but... Next week I'm headed down to Vegas to job and apartment hunt! Two of my favorite things in the whole wide world! NOT!!! But it has to be done, so please wish me luck! I'm transferring back down to UNLV to finish up my bachelors degree in art. I'll be doing kind of like a double major, but I guess they call it just a double emphasis here. I'm doing photography and graphic design. I love taking pictures and trying to be creative. I'm not always the best, but there is always room for improvement! So I'm excited to be living near my brother again! I sure do miss the bugger! I never thought I'd say that, but he's grown on me! Maybe Randi will come and visit more since we will both be down there.
Anyways... that's my life so far. I'm getting excited to be moving on with my life again. Now if only the doctors could figure out what's wrong with me, I think I'd be able to move on a little faster. HAHA!! Anyways... I guess that's it for now. Again... I'm not the best at updating things... especially when I don't find my life all that exciting. But maybe sometime I'll give you a play by play of my day just to show you how fun it can be, being me!
